The films description is as follows:

Canvey Island, Essex.

Two young men pull a lever to propel the world’s biggest Catamaran, the Tsulamaran, up rails ready to be launched. Various shots of the 30 ton twin-hulled boat which has ten cabins and bathrooms, men prepare it for launch by adding life belts and fine tuning the engines. M/S of two men drinking wine in one of the rooms while others propel the boat up the hill. When this is done a woman breaks a champagne bottle on the side and it slides into the sea, various shots of it in the water.

  • Interesting to see the clips of Tsulamaran and the Shearwater, brings back many memories of my time with G Prout and Sons. Have many photos of the building of Tsulamaran which will sort out and put on the site.
