Echo 1962

Messrs. G. Prout and Sons, of Canvey Point, are carrying out modifications to a hovercraft. The hovercraft, a 14ft. long one-man “Skimmer.” belongs to Mr. Don Robertson, of Kingswood. Surrey, whose claim to fame is that he holds the first hovercraft driving licence issued by the Ministry of Transport. Ex-test pilot Mr. Robertson has asked Prouts to modify the base of his hovercraft so that it is as adoot on water as it is on land. This job requires fitting catamaran-type hulls to the craft.
