Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebratory Banners

As part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Canvey Island Town Council working with Castle View School, have organised commemorative banners to be designed by all of the ten primary schools on Canvey Island. Each primary school designed and submitted a banner that is to be displayed in Canvey Island town centre, to create a focal point to the Platinum Jubilee decorations.

The banners have been accompanied by five official Platinum Jubilee flags that were raised on the morning of Friday 27th May. The Town Council invited representatives from each of the schools as well as representatives from Nelmo & Co Accountants, to the flag raising. Nelmo & Co Accountants have kindly sponsored the purchase of the five official flags. The banners and flags will remain on display for the whole week of the Jubilee celebrations.

Town Mayor, Cllr Doreen Anderson said “The banners and flags look great and the time and effort from the children is wonderful to see. This is an excellent addition to the Jubilee decorations, and I am pleased the Town Council was able to organise this display.”

The Town Council would like to thank all of the primary schools for their time and effort in designing their banners, Castle View School for the printing and displaying of the banners and Nelmo & Co Accountants for their generous sponsorship.
