Sir Bernard Braine. Conservative M.P. for South East Essex, opened the Castle Point Jubilee Training and Welfare Centre on Sunday at Waterside Farm sports complex.
It is a joint project with the former jubilee committee and the St. John Ambulance Cadets. Trustees have been appointed with a management committee. To completely fit it out a further £3,250 is required, either in cash or in certain materials.

Jim Bowden (chairman of the Trust Management Committee), Dr. M. Weller, County Commissioner, St. John Ambulance H.Q., and the Rev. Geoffrey Wray ford, (rector). Sir Bernard Braine performed the opening ceremony and the Rev. Wrayford dedicated it. Coun. Bowden is looking at a picture of the Queen, which was presented. Royal congratulations had come from the Queen and Prince Charles for the occasion. Congratulations went to Coun. Ray Howard (who was Council chairman in Jubilee year)and those who had raised funds for the building, including Coun. Mrs. Dot Shaw (who had been a pianist at events).
Royal congratulations on the achievement of the building were received.
