We were at the Transport Museum's Open Day

Easter Sunday 2022

The archive was at the Transport Museum’s Open Sunday. As well as raising money for the archive we also had a raffle in aid of the Transport Museum’s building fund. Two boxes of goodies were on offer kindly donated by archive members and a voucher from Sainsburys used to purchase the other items. We raised £71 for the museum.

In attendance was the Easter Bunny, Ray Howard MBE, Rebecca Harris MP, Castle Point Mayor Pat Haunts, Canvey Rotary President Anne Earl, Town Mayor Barry Palmer and his wife Dot. Plus lots and lots of Canvey Islanders.

Alongside the buses from the museum were some of the members of the Canvey Island Classic Car Club who proved popular with our visitors. There were some stalls and some miniature railway layouts. One of the vintage buses ran a free shuttle service between the museum and the seafront parking. A busy day but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
