Paarl Lodge was demolished in 2015, another part of our history gone forever replaced by four houses. See photograph of the garden and greenhouse being demolished prior to the actual bungalow. The second from last picture is still there thankfully and was refurbished a few year back by a young family.

Regarding the image from Google Maps. If you use the Desktop Site the date of the image is shown in the bottom-right of the screen. In the case of the image above it’s March 2009.
FYI – Google have only been along Paarl Rd. once. If there’s more than one image of a place it’s possible to switch between them.
Thank you Matt we are well aware of that. However on the day I got the photo above for some reason the date was not showing.
