Sprundel Ave/May Avenue

Marion Hanman daughter of George Chambers has sent us this photo of the house built by her grandparents Arthur and Jessie Le Sadd in the 1930s. She says of the photo:

It is bit tatty but shows it how it was originally.

I understand the design was chosen at The Ideal Home exhibition.  They originally came down from Ilford for summer holidays.

I did visit the house in 2005 when the existing family were selling it as they made contact and wanted to show it to me.  They had hoped to have it listed but failed.  They loved the house but found it so expensive to run the heating with its massive radiator and huge pipes!
