A joy-ride is an Avro 504, first war trainer, by Mr Hammond cost 5/-. The airfield was at Leigh Beck. Flights ended in 1925 with a crash, luckily no one was killed.

  • Hello These flights were carried out by the Henderson flying school of Byfleet in Surrey. When this subject appeared on this site a while back I thought they were said to have taken place on the field behind the Casino site/Lubbins park. Regards Sparrow
