Pupils from Canvey found praise was in abundance when they were given awards for excellence. The children of Furtherwick Park School, Canvey were given their awards ata special evening in front of an audience of over 350. Among the award winners were Michel Tremaine, 16, who received a cup for all round sporting ability, Nicola French, 16, who received a shield for being all round best student and Katherine Storey, 16, who won award for nine straight As in her GCSEs. Head teacher Len Tooke said: ‘It was a very successful evening. I thanked all the children for all their efforts because the results were exceptionally good.’ Pictured on the back row from left to right are Daniel Peck, 16, Samantha Kester 16, Head Len Tooke, Michael Tremaine 16. And in the front row from left to right are Samantha Huett, Katherine Storey, Petra Johnson, Tracey Wilkins and Nichola French all aged 16.
