First Year's French trip, but when?
The 11 year olds who were known as First Years and then Year 7 learnt French. Towards the end of the school year they would be taken on a trip to northern France to practise what they’d learnt. Judging by the uniform I think this was taken in the 1970s but perhaps someone knows better?

I recognise Clifford Medler in a couple of the pictures so suspect that this must have been about 1980.
That was 1981 I went and am in the photo fuzzy blonde front row on the right
In the large group photo (top left) is french teacher Mr Sabidan (left most brown jacket) who I believe was from the Seychelles. A very nice man who I think had a tough time adjusting to Furtherwick pupils!
This was the year group above me, and my first year was Sept 1982. Assuming the French trip was in the spring term, this must be 1982.
Upon further inspection, this seems to be a mixture of pictures from two trips with two different year groups, one group of 81-86, and another of my year, 82-87.
