First Year's French trip, but when?

The 11 year olds who were known as First Years and then Year 7 learnt French. Towards the end of the school year they would be taken on a trip to northern France to practise what they’d learnt. Judging by the uniform I think this was taken in the 1970s but perhaps someone knows better?

  • I recognise Clifford Medler in a couple of the pictures so suspect that this must have been about 1980.

  • In the large group photo (top left) is french teacher Mr Sabidan (left most brown jacket) who I believe was from the Seychelles. A very nice man who I think had a tough time adjusting to Furtherwick pupils!

  • This was the year group above me, and my first year was Sept 1982. Assuming the French trip was in the spring term, this must be 1982.

  • Upon further inspection, this seems to be a mixture of pictures from two trips with two different year groups, one group of 81-86, and another of my year, 82-87.
