Question. Would like to know when the convent road school closed.
I lived in convent road for forty years in a house named aspatria.
I recently returned and the convent has become a youth club.
thank you George smith
Probably when they opened St Joseph’s school behind the Convent, George. The old convent is not a youth club but I understand it is like a respite centre for youngsters from all over the place. Unless it has changed again.
Hi,
I’m looking for any information regarding the school. Did you attend between 1980-1987?
When did it open/close?
Can anyone remember the nuns? Does Sister Annunciata ring any bells?
Thanks,
Laura
I attended the school in this time but we moved to Kent in 1987 I was only 7 then but i do remember Sister Annunciata my mum liked her the best. We used to live on Lionel Road opposite the convent. I remember Sister Assumpta sorry about the spelling and Sister Veronica was head teacher from memory.
Does that jog any memories?
Thanks
Kelly
I was there 1980-1987 and I remember Sister Annunciata,
I went there from 1970 to 75 sister Veronica was still head teacher
