Transport and History Trail 2019

Ready for the trail

Sunday the 16th of June and it was the beginning of the Transport and History Trail. The Bus Museum organised the event as a celebration of its 40th birthday as a museum. A steady stream of visitors came to look at the buses and the model railway in the former bus garage and enjoy a ride around Canvey on classic buses as well as hopping on and off at the other museums which were also open. They could visit the Bay Museum in Thorney Bay Road, The Heritage Centre in the Village and the Dutch Museum at Northwick Corner. There were also 2 guided bus tours telling visitors about bygone Canvey. The weather played ball to make a great day for everyone who joined in – and – it was all free! Canvey showed its community spirit once again.
