Sandy Bay aka Thorney Bay

I wonder what Colonel Fielder would say if he could see how his Thorney Bay Beach Camp has changed over the years? It’s now almost beyond recognition with the recent mass building of new mobile homes. I noticed that the foundations include large iron hoops presumably to anchor the homes against the gales that can blow across the Island!
