This is The Clockhouse run by Mr & Mrs Staunton. It was across the road from Green’s Stores in the High Street. They were a very friendly couple and I used to love looking at the toys in there. In the summer they had a chiller unit which they sold delicious lollies; banana or chocolate were my favourites. My mother bought me a Rosebud doll there for my seventh birthday.
