This is another of the clips from the Claxton DVD donated by Michael and Lin Swanson. We think it was taken the year of the big freeze 1947 or there was a very cold winter in 1942 I think. But we may be wrong.
The boys in the film are the Claxton sons. Perhaps Michael you can add the names in a comment below.

I would like to say I remember the big freeze of 1947. Unfortunately I can’t. I was born in Rochford hospital on the 3rd of March 1947 and I can remember my father telling me how difficult it was to reach me (and my mum). He was driving a motorcycle and sidecar and had terrible trouble trying to reach the hospital. We lived in South Benfleet as I still do and in those days transport could be very difficult.
