In 1990 while Nikki was at Furtherwick Park she won 18 trophies from taking part in competitions across the country. In 1991 she won the South East Junior Karate Championship. She was the first dan black belt in the Korean martial art of Tang Soo Do and was ranked 2nd in the world in the junior section at that time.
