I don’t know when the Lynchgate was eventually installed but it would appear that the Colonel’s ‘ impatience’ more than likely a mild interpretation of his mood must have prevailed throughout the whole project. I quote my Dad Aubrey who was present at the installation ceremony ” Fielder arrived late and he had ‘ a right old strop on’. !! 😀Graham.
