  • Hi all my late father bert foulger. Was stationed there when working for the port of london authority. In 1960s to 1980s. He crewed two motor launches pitsea and Chelsea for P.L.A. many times going down there to get a free boat trip along the patrol route along river Thames with my dad.with crew mates stan .and ted watson. Then in lobby for a drink.after work. When little walking that jetty looking through the gaps to the water below,I always try to miss the gaps.Lol. sad to see it go. I also crab line down below. And open the gate for fishing party boats . Weekends. Was scary when wind got strong. I held the hand rails tight.and as teenage jump of into the water, till me dad found out.and got a clip round me ear. Happy memories. As a HM coast guard on duty we go to jetty.have tea with coast watch crew. I stand outside and remember my dad and his crew. Taking me back in time when I was little. Still looking down through the gaps again!!!! As we walked the jetty.
