Reflected Glory

Rev John Fleetwood was the Vicar of Canvey from 1957 – 1973. This was the time when St Katherine's was to close and a new church built, St Nicholas. Rev Fleetwood was instrumental in getting the project completed in 1961. In 1980 he wrote his autobiography 'Reflected Glory'. Some of the relevant chapters are being published here. Hopefully with his family's blessing.

I found his story delightful, funny and very honest. A good description of life on Canvey at that time. I am sure you will find yourself having a chuckle as you read it.
