Philip Henry Blanshard aka The Jackass

Phil Blanshard or Phil B as he was also known was a reporter and cartoonist who worked for Fred McCave on his local paper.

Born in 1883 in Boston, Lincolnshire. His parents were Fred and Kate. He married in 1914. The couple arrived on Canvey c1921 and lived at Excelsies his occupation was recorded as cartoonist but he was out of work. By 1939 he was widowed and incapacitated, living in Florence Road he died in 1959.
