I think this may have been one of the roads off Holbeck rd.I remember a family called Cox that had one in their garden.

Hi Bob and others, Don’t exactly remember the caravan but the name of the Cox family rings a bell. This story was told to me by my brother Chris some yrs ago When he was one of Billy Wells’ pony boys in the 50s Shenton Cox , who was about his age came to the pony field and on several occasions in the Summer holidays ordered a horse for a cousin who was staying with them from London, turns out this guy was Frazier Hines who was at drama school Starting as a child actor he had many roles( inc in Dr Who) but was most famous for the character Joe Sugden in Emmerdale Farm for 10 yrs and then for a subsequent period in the 80s According to internet info he now breeds horses! Fraser Hines and his parents used to come to Canvey every summer and stayed in Rye Cottage in Gifhorn Road. It was a little way on the left down Gifhorn. His mother used to sing opera at the top of her voice.
