Dick Whittington 1958

Georgettes's Juveniles

About 1958 Georgettes’s Juveniles pantomime which I think was Dick Whittington, performed in the Memorial Hall.

Queenie is back row far left. Far right is Lily Rayer who was our pianist, Josie who sang, Mrs Taylor, Mrs Revel who made the costumes and my mum  Phyllis.

  • I’m Dick Whittington, in the middle with a white boat shaped hat.
    Loads of faces I recognise.

  • I am fifth one in on the left on the bottom row my dad sat on my hat at the end of the show, lucky it wasn’t at the beginning. We used to practice at green glades near smallgains avenue a very old bungalow but it had lovely wooden floors ideal for tap dancing, loved being in the carnivals and performing at thorny bay holiday camp every weekend. Finale song was ‘good night campers’.
    Happy days and lovely memories.
