As a former employee back then, I remember this evening very well for many reasons. At the time, I ran the Spectrum Computer Department inside the Canvey High Street store and we were very busy that night. Mike Reid had been on the free booze and cracked a Jewish joke with Miriam & Mick Litman in the shop that went down like the proverbial lead balloon. (You could have heard a pin drop) Mike Reid was there with his Mrs and they received a raft of integrated appliances as payment for his ‘Work’. I remember, my boss, rest his soul Ray Vagg laughing out in the stockroom at what he heard 🙂 Lovely memories of working at Tower and I expect a fair few will remember me 🙂
