The picture of Abraham Bird outside the Red Cow PH was taken between 1881 when his known to be at the pub and 1891 when he died. The people with him are likely his family. Honora his wife is probably the lady to his left. The others are almost certainly his children and his grandchildren of which there were loads.
This photo was taken from the Canvey News and Benfleet Recorder dated 5 January 1968, so the scene is from 1918.
