Maureen says:

My Aunt Ivy, ‘Uncle’ Frank and my mum in the garden at the back of the shop my grandparents, uncle and aunt had in the High Street (Clarkes Stores) next to Palmers & Stevens bakers. Uncle Frank is listed as having a cafĂ© in the Market on the High Street, just before St Anne’s Road

  • Great photo Maureen. That’s the Palmers bungalow in the background, obviously a long time before the Leylandi fir trees across the front( they were all blown down in the ‘ hurricane’ of 1987). To the left is Ashmore Cottage owned by my Auntie Blossom.

  • Hi Graham. I knew you would be able to add some more detail to this. We must meet up at some time.
