Corrina thanks them all

Young Corrina Cordon said a big thank you to parents and staff at her Furtherwick Park School, Canvey. Corrina, 14, suffers from a disease of the intestinal tract called Crohns Disease and the adults organised a fun-run to collect £630 for research into the illness. Corrina of Clinton Road, Canvey, went into the school for the presentation.

Representatives from CICRA, Crohns In Children Research Appeal, were also there.

Corrina’s illness means frequent spells in hospital and she has to be on a drip because she has problems eating. But she remains cheerful and carries on with her school studies.

Corrina said: “I was diagnosed as having Crohns Disease three years ago, but the doctors think I have had it longer. It makes you have a very poor appetite. I think it was really nice that they raised money as there are so many other causes. This disease is not very well known and if they can get more money for research they have more chance of finding out what the cause is.”
