Canvey Island - Sequel to the air raid

1915 Southend Telegraph

-On Thursday Mr. John Dedman, a horseman, living at Little Gyps Farm, Canvey, discovered a three-inch unexploded shell near Canvey Village. It was embedded in a hole about two feet deep, and was pointing towards Hadleigh Colony, and  is supposed to have been fired from Cliff or Coalhouse Forts during the recent air raid on Southend.

Ouch – Not so friendly fire
