John Buckmaster emailed in after finding some old photos of his wife's family the Hoads and kindly sent them in for us to use on the website. They were taken when the family used to visit their parents who had a bungalow on Canvey in Wilrich Avenue called Stavelot. This is the old couple standing in the doorway, William and Florence Hoad. The can also be seen in the photos at the bottom of the page leaving Canvey during the 1953 flood disaster.
