Grandad William known as Bill and Lou

My nanny and grandad Lucy Clayton and William Clayton lived at St.Winnows 82 Central Avenue. I can remember the gardens and outside toilet. We had fruit trees in the garden and the dyke ran across the back of the fence in the garden.

My nan was very ill at the time and being collected by an ambulance and gent called George that would take her to the hospital regularly, and my grandad was an upholsterer who had a large shed /work area out the back. I used to love watching him build a frame and and make a new settee he was really talented.

He use to love a pint at the Haystack or the Paddocks and nan would go to the bingo hall. We had great fun in the early 70s and then grandad moved to Little Gypps unfortunately nan passed away before they moved in which was really sad.

I wonder if anyone remembers them.
